I see fashion as not only a necessity, but an art form in which I am able to explore flamboyant styles and play with issues such as gendered expression in clothing and religious dogma. I take a considerable amount of inspiration from biology, late 20th century drag and performance apparel, my religious upbringing in the Evangelical Baptist church, and the Camp Movement.

I am interested in eco-conscious, animal-friendly, and sustainable fashion brands that treat garment workers fairly. When producing clothes, ethical issues are fundamentally linked so ethical consumption is paramount. I am passionate and constantly exploring the evolution of self by creating imagery that is extravagant and subversive. I learned at a young age that I could find fulfillment in life through making and the creative process, within the process of creating and designing, I make my art for myself, and as a side effect, I hope to bring people into my world I have created for myself.
